This is the third coach in 30+ years. The Tennessee administration is nowhere near Notre Dame's.
Lane will win at UT, I think the program will make a quick turn for the better much like Bama has done under Saban
At one time I thought Kiffin would be a great coach....but regardless of the situation in Oakland, he made alot of blunders there and now I'm not so sure.
Look at what he had to work with, he was correct in saying it was completely dysfunctional. Al Davis can make any coach look bad.
There was one main problem in Oakland.....
Davis wanted Russell to be the QB, Kiffin did not think he could win in the NFL...
Kifffin was right Davis was wrong....Those QB's just don't win in the NFL, period
Before the season I said Oakland would go 8-8, well that ain't happening. Until Davis removes himself from that organization I will have a hard time pulling for them anymore. I am not sure they will have another winning season in the near future.

He MAY end up being right BUT you have to give Russell another year or 2 AND a legit Wideout before you can pass judgement on him
Exactly...he hasn't started a full NFL season yet if you add the games together...he's had a suspect line and NO WRs. The way I see it, Al Davis is the majority owner of the Raiders..and if he wants a player, he should get him. He wanted Russell, he got Russell, and Kiffin had to deal with it. He did so by alienating him (Russell)...and it didn't hurt my feelings to see Kiffin get shown the door earlier in the season.
I always like the Bill Parcells' approach. "If you want me to cook dinner, let me shop for the groceries!"
